Still more truth seeping out? Last week's "Scandal" (reruns Tuesday night)

Hi, Folks -
When they came up with a show called "Desperate Housewives", and the promo for it muttered something about "your favorite naughty pleasure", I decided never to watch the show. :)
Perhaps you've done the same with "Scandal", just because of its name...? I'd understand that. But here's the thing:
"Scandal" is turning out to be essentially "the darker side of 'The West Wing'" rather than "yetanother 'Desperate Housewives'".
Last week's episode, though threaded together by story bits of "what to do about a scandalous situation involving the President", was mostly about revealing further details of "B613", an offshoot of the CIA that the President isn't even supposed to know about.
Turns out B613 (fronted by an innocuous company named ACME and located on Wonderland Dr.) trains and deploys assassins, including regular character Huck (Guillermo Diaz) - and treats its assassins pretty rudely if ever they disobey an order. Just ask Huck.
Last week's episode (which is being rerun Tuesday night) tells us more about the relationship between main character Olivia Pope and Huck. And, though it was becoming apparent already, we see in more detail that Olivia's father (played by Joe Morton) is "Command" at B613.
I'll stop there - the story line is full of additional details :) - but the point is: Here's a primetime TV series, talking to us about an assassination agency within the government but that is not answerable to the President of the United States. He's not even supposed to know it exists.
Is this "truth seeping out"...? I could only guess, as any such matter is certainly "above my clearance level". :) But it's interesting that a very large viewing audience is being introduced to the idea.
